Twitterature: 3 book reviews, Twitter-style

Since the New Year, I've finished reading three incredible books in three very different genres. I recommend all of them, but if I had to choose, start reading The Ocean at the End of Lane now and you won't be able to put it down.

Today I'm linking up with Modern Mrs. Darcy's Twitterature: book reviews Twitter-style.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
Genre: Adult Fantasy/Fairytale

Back at his childhood home, the narrator replays fantastical adventures with his next-door neighbor. Leaves you thinking: what is reality?

  1. The Ocean at the End of the Lane was wonderful! Sometimes I think I'm not smart enough to read Neil Gaiman, but I loved this one so much.

    1. This is the first Neil Gaiman book I've read but I'm wanting to read more now! Do you recommend any other ones?

    2. I think a lot of Gaiman fans would tell you American Gods, but I really liked Stardust. Oh, and Coraline is awesome too!

  2. What great reviews! I loved The Ocean at the End of the Lane, and I want to read more by him pronto! The other two have been on my GoodReads list, and I can't wait to dive in someday soon. So many books, so little time!

  3. My husband is currently reading The Ocean at the End of the Lane. I'm not a big fantasy reader but when I first read the book jacket, I wanted to steal it from him. I think maybe I should now!

    1. It's more fairytale than fantasy so I think even non typical fantasy readers would like it-- give it a try :)

    1. Holley's book is great to read at the beginning of the year especially as it sets a good tone for intentionality the remainder of the year!

  6. Neil Gaiman is one of those authors who simultaneously commands my respect and elicits a fight-or-flight response. :) Even his children's books terrify me; I'm not sure I'm brave enough for his adult books.

  7. I enjoyed the Guernsey book also but I don't think there will be a sequel. I think the author passed away.

    1. Yes I did read that in the afterwards... just wishful thinking since I'd love to read more about the characters.

  8. I've heard nothing but good about The Ocean at the End of the Lane. I've only read one book by Neil Gaiman - The Graveyard Book. I really enjoyed it.
